Five burglaries reported in a week in Vadodara, items worth 5.33 lakh stolen

The city recorded as many as five incidents of break-ins in the city during the last one week. Items and cash amounting close to Rs 5.33 lakh were stolen in the burglaries.

VADODARA: The city recorded as many as five incidents of break-ins in the city during the last one week. Items and cash amounting close to Rs 5.33 lakh were stolen in the burglaries.
An incident of burglary was reported at Fatehgunj police station on July 19. Keshav Parmar, a resident of New Sama Road, told police that burglars entered his house on Saturday night and escaped with gold jewellery worth Rs 47,500.

In another incident, burglars fled with silver and gold jewelleries and cash amounting Rs 77,000 from a house in Fatehpura. The house owner Arvind Solanki told police that the thieves entered by breaking the lock of his main entrance. A complaint was registered at city police station on July 20.
Cash and gold, silver jewellery worth Rs 1.40 lakh were stolen from a locker in a residence in Makarpura during night of July 20. Sunita Ramsansingh the owner of the house told the police that the accused barged into her house after breaking open a window grill. A police complaint of house break-in was filed at the Makarpura police station.
Two separate incidents of burglary were reported in the city on July 22. Ashok Mahajan, a resident of New Sama Road, told Sama police that his house near Agiyar Garden was burgled late night of July 21. Mahajan told the police that the burglars stole gold jewellery worth Rs 1.36 lakh kept in his bedroom.
In another incident, a resident of Akota filed a complaint of burglary at the gotri police station on July 22 evening. Complainant Irfan Pathan told the police that the thieves stole gold jewellery worth Rs 1.33 lakh from his house in Akota.
